London shopping takes a pounding
I love London and visit about every other year. But a mecca for smart shoppers it most certainly is not. So Booth Moore’s article [“Try It On for Size,” May 7] was a real forehead-slapper, especially when she casually mentions, “When it comes to shopping in London, the exchange rate is brutal.”
You think? As of this writing, the dollar is worth an anemic 53 cents in Britain. Moore is certainly free to rave about her overpriced London sprees. I suppose somebody has to pay retail, plus 50%.
