Spurs Cool About Game 7

The San Antonio Spurs are grateful to have the home-court advantage tonight in Game 7 after rallying to tie their Western Conference semifinal series, but they weren’t acting as if victory over the Dallas Mavericks was automatic.

“We’ve played each other 10 times this year, and it’s five and five,†Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich said Sunday. “So after tomorrow, somebody’s going to be six, and somebody’s going to be five. Whoever loses would probably win the next game, it’s that close.â€

The only other Game 7 in Mavericks history was in 1988, when they lost -- on the road -- to the Lakers in the conference finals.

Dallas already has blown two chances to advance. A third would make the Mavericks only the ninth NBA team to squander a 3-1 series lead.
