Mother Charged With Murder in Child’s Death

A mother was charged with murder Thursday for lighting a gas grill inside her car, asphyxiating her 3-year-old daughter and injuring her 4-year-old son, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors also charged Linda Woo, 39, with attempted murder. She was hospitalized in the jail ward of San Francisco General Hospital. The boy was taken to UC San Francisco Medical Center and authorities said he is expected to recover.
Police called the crime an apparent murder-suicide attempt.
