Fishing Boat Blown Up; 6 Killed, 8 Missing

Sri Lanka’s military said suspected Tamil Tiger rebels blew up their fishing boat to avoid capture off the west coast, leaving six rebels dead and eight government sailors missing.
The Tigers said they had nothing to do with the blast. Seevaratnam Puleedevan, a rebel leader, said by phone from Kilinochchi that the boat could have been owned by smugglers.
