Thousands Gather to Mark Coup Anniversary

Tens of thousands of Argentines massed in Buenos Aires in angry remembrance of a military coup 30 years ago, jamming the main square and plastering the city with grainy photographs of people who disappeared under the dictatorship.
President Nestor Kirchner used a nationally televised address earlier to challenge a 1990 pardon of military officers.
“Thirty thousand disappeared!†people chanted as they finished marking the day in 1976 that installed the dictatorship, which ended in 1983.
