The wife of an Army sergeant was sentenced Monday to more than 16 years in prison for trying to kill her husband with a knife in San Diego, authorities said.
Sharonmarie Ball, 30, and a man she met over the Internet, Jason Wayne Cline, 27, pleaded guilty in November to attempted murder, authorities said.
Ball, who lured her husband to a predetermined area at North Island Naval Air Station to attack him, was the beneficiary of $250,000 in life insurance proceeds payable upon her husband’s death, authorities said.
