Good Reviews Given to O’Donnell, Friesen

After only two games with the Mighty Ducks, defenseman Sean O’Donnell and winger Jeff Friesen are drawing positive reviews from their teammates.
“O’Donnell’s tough, and Friesen’s got some speed and skill,” Joffrey Lupul said after the Ducks defeated the Phoenix Coyotes, 5-2, Sunday.
Rob Niedermayer, who fed a perfect pass to Friesen for a goal, said, “Friesen is great in the slot. He usually buries it.”
Added Coach Randy Carlyle, “That’s the type of goal Friesen can score.”
Niedermayer echoed Carlyle about more players scoring now than earlier in the year. “In the past, we waited for Mac [Andy McDonald] and Teemu [Selanne],” he said.

Coyote Coach Wayne Gretzky said the Ducks’ “best players played well. ... Niedermayer and Selanne were the difference.”
He bemoaned his team’s play. “We aren’t good enough at this point. We’ve got to get better.”
