Lions Gate Profit Jumps on ‘Madea’s Reunion’

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., distributor of Oscar winner “Crash,” said fiscal fourth-quarter profit rose 94% as the comedy “Madea’s Family Reunion” boosted results.
Net income rose to $38.9 million, or 27 cents a share, from $20.1 million, or 17 cents, a year earlier, Santa Monica and Vancouver, Canada-based Lions Gate said. Sales rose 35% to $313.4 million.
