Re “Top Democrats in House Back Jefferson’s Ouster From Panel,” June 9
Rep. William J. Jefferson (D-La.) ought to step down from his responsible House Ways and Means Committee post. Black or white, Democratic or Republican, an honorable person would graciously step aside until exonerated. There comes a point when race should not make a difference.
