Just in time for summer, Cedar Fair, the outfit that owns Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, scrounged up $1.24 billion to add five parks to its arsenal, including Great America in Santa Clara. What if theme park companies stepped out of the suburbs and bought properties in Los Angeles proper, which some wags think of as one big amusement park anyway? We have some suggestions:
