‘Lucky Louie’ isn’t real -- it’s just bad
RE “This or Nothing,†by Lynn Smith, July 15: “Lucky Louie†is a terrible show on so many levels. Creator/star Louis CK believes his show is “real†and that people really talk the way his characters talk. No, it’s not, and no, they don’t. Not even close. And CK isn’t bad because he’s “ugly,†he’s bad because he can’t act or project any form of a real person. And to so blatantly mimic “The Honeymooners†set and atmosphere -- complete with bad lighting -- unfortunately compares this dreck with true comedic inspiration.
