Concert replacement: Mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung will be the soloist for the Sept. 29-Oct. 1 Los Angeles Philharmonic performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. DeYoung replaces Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, who died July 3.
In the works: Disney Theatrical Productions is developing a musical based on Jules Feiffer’s book, “The Man in the Ceiling.†Feiffer is writing the play’s book, while Andrew Lippa is handling the music and lyric chores.
Remembering Red: Turner Classic Movies will pay tribute Thursday to Red Buttons, who died at 87 this week, by showing six of his films in succession, including “Sayonara,†for which he won an Oscar.
