A critical view

STAR JONES REYNOLDS may have stabbed Barbara Walters in the back, but I felt like Robin Abcarian stabbed me in the heart when she said that “Barbara Walters is a liar” in her crass, mean-spirited commentary [“The Truth? It’s a Point of View,” June 30]. Surely Abcarian knows the difference between a bold-faced lie and a little white lie (fib) designed to protect the ego, self-esteem or mental health of a valued friend/colleague/spouse. Think, “Honey, do you think this new $300 dress makes me look fat?”
Barbara Walters gave Star the opportunity to go out with dignity and grace. Star, with hate in her heart and honey on her lips, decided to leave Barbara out-of-the-loop and blab to People and the studio audience.
