He’s finally coming out of his shell

A lambeosaur hatchling, a type of duckbilled dinosaur, peers out from its egg in one of many life-size models at “Fossil Mysteries” at the San Diego Natural History Museum. The new permanent exhibit, focusing on finds from Southern California and Baja California, is the museum’s biggest ever. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission is $11 for adults, $7 for those ages 13 to 17 and $6 for ages 3 to 12; (619) 232-3821, www.sdnhm.org.
