Stars Beat Sharks in OT for Fifth Win in a Row
Jason Arnott scored with 35 seconds left in overtime to give the Dallas Stars their fifth consecutive victory, 3-2 over the San Jose Sharks on Monday night at Dallas.
The Stars, who won their previous three games in shootouts and are unbeaten in eight shootouts, set a club record with their fourth consecutive overtime.
“I’d like to go out and win by a big score,†Coach Dave Tippett said. “But I think these character-building games will help us down the line. The more you learn about your team in close games, the better you’ll be down the stretch.â€
Arnott set up in front of the net and backhanded a rebound through the pads of Evgeni Nabokov after the goalie blocked Brenden Morrow’s shot.
The Stars are 11-3 in their last 14 games and are 10-2 in overtime and shootouts this season.
