Antiquated circuses
Re “Ringling without the rings,” editorial, Jan. 11
There’s nothing more disarming or revealing than humor, and this piece contains one of the best commentaries I’ve seen on the antiquated practice of using animals in the circus. We have indeed evolved beyond our primitive need to tame and prevail over nature, and we live in an age when we must endeavor to foster and preserve it. Clowns and performing animals no longer resonate with contemporary audiences. Thanks for poking fun at them; hopefully, with more editorials like this, Ringling Bros. will finally catch on.
