Other Deaths

The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Stuart M. Anderson, 44, of Peosta, Iowa; major, Army Reserve. Anderson was among eight soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Tall Afar, west of Mosul. He was assigned to the 3rd Corps Support Command, Army Reserve in Des Moines.

Kyle W. Brown, 22, of Newport News, Va.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Brown was among three Marines killed Jan. 7 by small-arms fire in separate attacks during combat near Fallouja, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Radhames Camilomatos, 24, of Carolina, Puerto Rico; sergeant, Army. Camilomatos died of noncombat-related injuries Jan. 7 in Taji, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armored Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Jaime L. Campbell, 25, of Ephrata, Wash.; first lieutenant, Army National Guard. Campbell was among eight soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Tall Afar, west of Mosul. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard in Anchorage.

Adam L. Cann, 23, of Davie, Fla.; sergeant, Marine Corps. Cann was killed Jan. 5 in a suicide bomb attack on an Iraqi police recruitment center in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was a member of the military police assigned to the security battalion at Camp Pendleton. As part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was attached to the 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

Joseph D. deMoors, 36, of Jefferson, Ala.; first lieutenant, Army. DeMoors was among eight soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Tall Afar, west of Mosul. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Michael I. Edwards, 26, of Fairbanks, Alaska; specialist, Army National Guard. Edwards was among eight soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Tall Afar, west of Mosul. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard in Anchorage.

Nathan R. Field, 23, of Lehigh, Iowa; sergeant, Army Reserve. Field was one of two soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Humvee was struck by a civilian vehicle in the southern city of Umm al Qasr. He was assigned to the 4249th Port Security Company, Army Reserve in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Albert P. Gettings, 27, of New Castle, Pa.; corporal, Marine Corps. Gettings was one of two Marines killed Jan. 5 by small-arms fire during combat in Fallouja, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Jeriad P. Jacobs, 19, of Clayton, N.C.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Jacobs was among three Marines killed Jan. 7 by small-arms fire in separate attacks during combat near Fallouja, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Robert T. Johnson, 20, of Erwin, N.C.; specialist, Army Reserve. Johnson was one of two soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Humvee was struck by a civilian vehicle in the southern city of Umm al Qasr. He was assigned to the 805th Military Police Company, Army Reserve in Raleigh, N.C.

Douglas A. La Bouff, 36, of La Puente; major, Army. La Bouff was among eight soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Tall Afar, west of Mosul. He was assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Jason T. Little, 20, of Climax, Mich.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Little was killed Jan. 7 when a roadside bomb exploded near his tank near Ferris. He was assigned to the 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Brett L. Lundstrom, 22, of Stafford, Va.; corporal, Marine Corps. Lundstrom was among three Marines killed Jan. 7 by small-arms fire in separate attacks during combat near Fallouja, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Michael R. Martinez, 43, of Missouri; captain, Army. Martinez was among eight soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Tall Afar, west of Mosul. He was assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Ryan S. McCurdy, 20, of Baton Rouge, La.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. McCurdy was one of two Marines killed Jan. 5 by small-arms fire during combat in Fallouja, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the Headquarters Company, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Michael J. McMullen, 25, of Salisbury, Md.; sergeant, Army National Guard. McMullen died Tuesday at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., of injuries suffered Dec. 24 when a roadside bomb exploded near him in Ramadi, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 243rd Engineer Company, Army National Guard in Baltimore.

Jacob E. Melson, 22, of Wasilla, Alaska; specialist, Army National Guard. Melson was among eight soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Tall Afar, west of Mosul. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard in Anchorage.

Raul Mercado, 21, of Monrovia; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Mercado was killed Jan. 7 when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle near Karmah, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Maintenance Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Chester W. Troxel, 45, of Anchorage; chief warrant officer, Army National Guard. Troxel was among eight soldiers killed Jan. 7 when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Tall Afar, west of Mosul. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard in Anchorage.

Clinton R. Upchurch, 31, of Garden City, Kansas; specialist, Army. Upchurch was killed Jan. 7 when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee and he was attacked with small-arms fire in Samarra, northwest of Baghdad. He was a military policeman assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, Ky.
