BUZZ CLUBS
Hey, over there, isn’t that ... ?
Oscar winning actor-comedian-singer Jamie Foxx got jiggy at Mood last Wednesday with an impromptu performance of the hot single “Gold Digger.” It was just another night in Hollywood, as Foxx was joined by such hotties as Kimberly Stewart and Alyssa Milano....
Meanwhile over in the Valley, seems celebs are taking a paparazzi timeout at a couple of new hangs: Chapter 8 and P6 -- both in Agoura Hills. The Vegas-style hotspots are owned by twin Valley boys Brad and Greg Finefrock, and among their clientele are Hulk Hogan, John Cusack, Jeremy Piven, Wilmer Valderrama, Wayne Gretzky and the Rock, who got cozy in one of Chapter 8’s private cabanas. The twins don’t skimp on the talent, springing for such hot DJs as Vice, who hangs loose on Thursdays at Chapter 8....
And speaking of the 818, the Vintage Bar Group, which owns Daddy’s and NoBar, is planning to open its latest watering hole, Bar 21, in Burbank in early spring.
Desert or city, here’s the Key
Sunset Strip staple the Key Club is celebrating the debut of its desert doppelganger at the Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa this Saturday, with performances by Duran Duran and turntablist DJ AM. The Key Club Morongo is about 90 minutes east of L.A.... And speaking of the Key Club, celebs continue to flock there on Mondays for Metal Skool; latest sightings include Drea De Matteo, Shooter Jennings and members of the Deftones, System of a Down and Audioslave....Slash laid down some licks with the bimonthly all-star jam band the Greasy Beats (featuring members of the Black Eyed Peas, Cake, the Breakestra and the Southland) at On the Rox in WeHo on Saturday. The Greasy Beats play the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Kiss or Kill, but don’t kiss, tell
In February, music scenesters Cooper Gillespie and John Arakaki are bringing their all-ages, live music promotion, Kiss or Kill, from the Echo to the new Hollywood nightclub Safari Sam’s three Fridays a month. Kiss or Kill also holds forth at the Key Club on the first Friday of the month, starting Feb. 3. The promotion always offers cheap covers, not to mention an MC armed with a tequila squirt gun. Blammy.
