24 Haitians Suffocate in Smuggling Attempt

Police said 24 Haitians crammed into a van that smuggled them into the Dominican Republic had suffocated.
Their bodies were found at two locations northeast of the Dominican capital, Santo Domingo.
The van’s driver and his assistant were arrested.
