Chicago’s Coyotes Said to Number About 2,000
Perhaps 2,000 or more coyotes now live in the greater Chicago area along with its 9 million people, according to researchers from Ohio State University.
Biologist Stanley Gehrt estimated that at least half of the animals live in packs of five to six adults plus their pups. Single coyotes can cover 50 square miles in one night.
