U.S. Sailor Is Held in Woman’s Killing

Police questioned a 21-year-old U.S. sailor in connection with the beating death of Yoshie Sato, 56, a Japanese woman, and a court later issued an arrest warrant for the unidentified serviceman. The sailor was in confinement at U.S. Navy’s Yokosuka base south of Tokyo, but could be transferred to Japanese custody as early as today.
