Six men will go on trial in Norway today in the theft of Edvard Munch’s masterpieces “The Scream” and “Madonna,” which were plucked from an Oslo museum wall in 2004.
Five men will be charged in an Oslo court with carrying out or planning the robbery from Oslo’s Munch Museum on Aug. 22, 2004. The sixth man is charged with handling stolen goods.
But the prosecutors will have to make their case without the key evidence, because the paintings still haven’t been located.
