Twenty-three workers were killed by a blast at a state-owned coal mine in northern China and 53 suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, the government said.
About 697 workers were in the Sihe Coal Mine in China’s Shanxi province when the blast occurred, the official New China News Agency said.
