WASHINGTON — The U.S. military in Baghdad shot at the Canadian ambassador’s car Tuesday but no one was hurt, a State Department official said.
“It’s an unfortunate incident. No one was injured,” said the official, speaking on condition on anonymity.
A spokesman for Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs said the U.S. troops apparently asked the car to stop, and feared that they were dealing with a suicide bomber when the driver didn’t respond, Canada’s CBC News said on its website.
