Actions speak louder than past

Re “Organizer’s shady past casts pall on charity effort,” Dec. 16
There was no “pall” except for the suggestion in the article itself. While organizer Michael Kerr and his past are newsworthy subjects, the real story was the event.
Through the assistance of sponsors and volunteers, the Snowball Express provided a trip to Disneyland, a hockey game and other festivities. As a result, almost 1,000 widows and children of servicemen and women killed in Iraq and Afghanistan were flown to Orange County, provided accommodations and given a once-in-a-lifetime experience. That is the story, and nothing Kerr did in his past had any negative effect on the event.
