Bargain hunting’s thrills and chills
Thanks for an insightful article on what drives people to seek out a Black Friday “storegasm,” as one friend describes the thrill of nailing a great sale item [“Hunter-Gatherer, Bargain Shopper,” Dec. 4]. The only thing I’d camp overnight for is a cure for cancer.
My mother and I have completely different approaches to shopping. To her, it’s a thrill. To me, it’s equivalent to a life sentence on a Russian gulag.
My teenage stepdaughter loves shopping. Apparently, the shopping gene skips generations, even when we’re not related by blood!
