Baby-sitters make Vegas come alive
I enjoyed reading “Tots Tucked Away, Adults Can Play” [Kids on Board, Dec. 3] about baby-sitting options in Las Vegas. My husband and I have used sitters in Vegas on three trips. The service we used, Nannies & Housekeepers USA was mentioned in the article. It can be expensive, but we have found it to be worthwhile.
As a mom who has not yet felt comfortable leaving my 3-year-old son and 1 1/2 -year old daughter overnight without me, the baby-sitting service allowed us to take our kids to Vegas and still have nights out on the town alone. Each nanny we used was professional, courteous and made us feel comfortable. We even had a nanny who was a medical doctor in her native Russia.
We would recommend this option to anyone who would like to spend some time alone but still needs or wants to take along the kids.

IT has been a pleasure reading Diana Dawson’s articles for the “Kids on Board” column since Mary McNamara took maternity leave. The article about finding a baby-sitter in Las Vegas was excellent. .
Dawson’s articles are informative and entertaining, quite a contrast to McNamara’s “treat me like a goddess, I have kids” approach.
