Our Modern-Day Gold Rush

I appreciated Justin Jouvenal’s great little article on the seemingly eternal search for gold (“Gold,” Nov. 19). Too bad there wasn’t twice the amount of text and photos on this fascinating pursuit and subject as well as more gold-hunting background and “color” up and down Highway 49.
Jouvenal’s quoting of Mark Twain reminded me of another classic comment that has been attributed to Twain: A gold mine is “a hole in the ground owned by a liar.”
