Lady Vols stopped by Tar Heels again

Erlana Larkins had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 2 North Carolina to a 70-57 victory over No. 4 Tennessee on Sunday night at Chapel, Hill, N.C.
The Tar Heels (8-0) never trailed in overcoming a strong game by Candace Parker, who finished with 27 points for the Lady Vols (6-1).
It was a rematch of last season’s NCAA regional final that North Carolina won, 75-63.

SOUTHLAND
Cal State Northridge 102, Eastern Washington 98 -- Calvin Chitwood scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed a key rebound to lead the Matadors (5-3) past the visiting Eagles (4-4).
Northridge led 97-94 when Chitwood grabbed a missed three-point shot by Eastern Washington’s Rodney Stuckey, who scored 32 points.

Long Beach State 57, Maryland Baltimore County 53 -- Aaron Nixon scored 23 points, and the 49ers (3-4) halted a three-game losing streak by beating the Retrievers (3-5) at Catonsville, Md.
