Los Angeles city firefighters battled a blaze at a Marina del Rey auto shop late Thursday night.
The building, which measured 30,000 square feet, was either under construction or being remodeled when the fire broke out just before 11 p.m., officials said.
The building was at 13600 Marina Point Drive, according to the Fire Department.
Flames and dark smoke rose from the building’s roof as firefighters struggled to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby structures, including an apartment complex.
