Update -- A victory would move USC over the .500 mark for the first time under first-year Coach Tim Floyd, whose emphasis on improved shot selection helped nudge the Trojans to victories over Eastern Washington and Alaska Anchorage in the Great Alaska Shootout. USC has made 48.2% of its shots in its last two games after converting 37.3% in season-opening losses to Cal State Northridge and Oral Roberts. Senior guard Rickey Porter averages 13.3 points for the run-and-gun Highlanders, who are still seeking the first victory of the David Spencer era after opening the season with losses to Washington State, Portland and San Diego. USC won its only previous meeting with UC Riverside, 81-68, during the 2002-03 season.
