5 Marines Deny Accusation of Rape
From Times Wire Reports
Five U.S. Marines denied raping a Philippine woman, with two saying they were not present when the assault allegedly happened, according to statements filed before prosecutors.
A lawyer for a sixth Marine refused to answer the complaint filed by the 22-year-old woman.
The Marines had taken part in a counter-terrorism exercise in the northern Philippines. They have not been charged.
