Four Inmates Killed as Police Retake Prisons

At least four inmates were killed when gunfire erupted as Kyrgyz riot police stormed prisons last month to restore order after uprisings erupted in prisons around the country, officials and witnesses said.
Police killed two prisoners in Moldovanovka and another two at a jail in Petrovka, both outside the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, said Deputy Justice Minister Sergei Zubov.
