Fox Seeks to Clarify Comment on U.S. Blacks

Mexican President Vicente Fox sought to clarify a remark condemned as racist.
Fox told a business group Friday that Mexicans were “doing the work that not even blacks want to do there†in the U.S.
On Sunday, his office issued a statement saying that Fox “conveys his utmost respect to all minorities regardless of their racial, ethnic or religious background, and thus, regrets and expresses his disagreement with the interpretations that described [Friday’s] statements as racist.â€
