Jury Urges Death for Killers of 4
From a Times Staff Writer
A jury called for the death penalty Wednesday for two gang members convicted of killing four people during a crime spree that ended in a shootout with police on the Santa Monica Pier nearly five years ago.
The same jury a day earlier found Oswaldo Amezcua, 29, and Joseph Conrad Flores, 34, guilty of killing John Luis Diaz, Arturo Madrigal, George Orlando Flores and Luis George Reyes, the district attorney’s office said.
Sentencing was set for April 20.
