Pedestrian, 78, Struck by Van, Dies at Scene

A Garden Grove woman was killed Monday when she was struck by a delivery van as she crossed a street, police said.
Thuan Thi Nguyen, 78, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:25 a.m. accident.
Nguyen was walking across Dale Street when she was hit by the van, which was turning north onto Dale from Acacia Avenue, police said. It was unclear whether she was in a crosswalk.
The driver, a 48-year-old man from Garden Grove, was on his way to work and was not injured, police said. An investigation is continuing.
