SPARKS TONIGHT
at Indiana, 5 PDT
Site -- Conseco Fieldhouse.
Radio -- 690.
Records -- Sparks 7-6, Fever 8-4.
Record vs. Fever (2004) -- 1-1.
Update -- At least the Sparks don’t have long to think about the meltdown in which they blew a 25-point lead in losing to Detroit on Sunday. But the Fever is not a team to face if you’re doubting your game. Second-place Indiana, which has been idle since defeating Minnesota on Friday, has kept red-hot Connecticut from running away and hiding from the rest of the East. Tamika Catchings leads the Fever in scoring (14.0), rebounds (7.0) and assists (4.8). Guard Tan White (11.8 points) is a factor in the rookie-of-the-year race. The Sparks are locked in a three-way tie for third in the West, with Seattle and Minnesota. Chamique Holdsclaw is expected to play despite the ankle sprain she sustained in Sunday’s game.
