Residents Evacuated After Trees Catch Fire
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
About 25 homes in an Anaheim neighborhood were briefly evacuated Wednesday after downed power lines ignited trees in a backyard.
The 5 p.m. fire in the 400 block of North Manti Drive was contained and residents were allowed to return to their homes after about an hour, said Maria Sabol, a spokeswoman for the Anaheim Fire Department.
About 90 homes and businesses were expected to remain without power for the remainder of the night, Sabol said.
