Gunning for tsunami relief

Neo-hard rockers L.A. Guns play the Ventura Theatre on Saturday, and for a good cause. Their “Rock for Relief” show, benefiting victims of the Dec. 26 tsunami, should be a lesson in rock history. Their saga dates to 1987, when the band first put out its Jack Daniel’s-soaked riff rock, featuring guitarist Traci Guns -- the “Guns” of Guns N’ Roses fame -- who split from GNR leader Axl Rose before Rose’s legendary ascent. By the early ‘90s, public interest had cooled. Their latest album, the archival “Hollywood Raw: The Original Sessions,” is a blast from the past.
