Twice-Missing Marine Is Added to List of Fugitives

A Marine from the city of West Jordan has been placed on a list of fugitives after being declared a deserter for a second time just days before military court proceedings stemming from his earlier disappearance in Iraq.
A mug shot of Marine Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun, 24, has been posted on a Navy criminal justice website, which says he now uses the alias “Jafar.” Hassoun was an Arabic translator in Iraq when he first disappeared from his post. He turned up in Lebanon, saying he had been kidnapped.
