Study Questions County Board’s Competence

Monterey County grand jurors scolded the Board of Supervisors in a scathing, 229-page report that criticizes the board for allegedly dropping the ball on crucial issues of water, transportation and affordable housing.
Monday’s grand jury report said the board lacked budget expertise, bent to special interests and “employed a laid-back, wait-and-see attitude in the development of the General Plan.â€
