‘Honor Killing’ Claims 5 Relatives
From Times Wire Reports
Eight armed men stormed a home in an eastern Pakistani village and killed a couple, their son and two others in a so-called honor killing, police said.
The victims in Vinnoi, about 20 miles east of Multan, were 20-year-old Munawar Mai, her husband and 1-year-old son, plus two other relatives.
The attackers allegedly included four of Mai’s brothers, police said. In 2002, she broke an arranged engagement to a cousin and married the man she loved, they said. Three men were arrested. The brothers and another man were being sought.
