Are Political Reasons Motivating Angelides?

In response to “Angelides to Fight Governor’s CalPERS Plan,” Feb. 3:
State Treasurer Phil Angelides, a CalPERS trustee who is expected to run for California governor in 2006, seems more concerned about the weakening of CalPERS’ (and other public pension funds’) political clout than in finding a pension solution that is both fair to government workers and cost effective to California taxpayers.
