Jazz artifacts are up for auction Sunday

NEW YORK — John Coltrane’s saxophone, Dizzy Gillespie’s bent trumpet and Lionel Hampton’s vibraphone are among 450 pieces of jazz memorabilia being auctioned Sunday.
Items were donated by the musicians’ families. Proceeds will go to jazz foundations, archives and young jazz artists. Bidders can participate by telephone, on EBay or in person.
