Surf City Credit Card Really for Adults Only

City officials want people to sign up for their revenue-generating Surf City credit card -- just not as badly as it may have seemed in recent days.
Because of a direct-mailing error, dozens, maybe hundreds, of children received solicitations for a city-endorsed Visa card.
As many as 200 parents have called the city to complain. Dave Biggs, economic development director, has been fielding the calls. And he can sympathize. His sons, ages 7 and 10, got them too.
