No. 7 Baylor Brushes Aside Missouri, 74-57

Steffanie Blackmon had a career-high 31 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday night to lead seventh-ranked Baylor to a 74-57 victory over Missouri at Waco, Texas.

The victory gave Baylor (20-3 overall, 10-2 in the Big 12) 20 wins for the fifth consecutive season under Coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson.

Consecutive steals by Chameka Scott keyed a 12-2 Baylor surge that put the Bears in front, 56-41, midway through the second half. Blackmon capped the run with a three-point play.

Missouri (9-14, 3-9) got no closer than 12 points thereafter -- the last time at 67-55 with three minutes left on two free throws by Tiffany Brooks. She led the Tigers with 19 points.

Nikita Bell had 22 points as No. 8 North Carolina (21-3, 9-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) won its seventh in a row with a 78-69 victory over Wake Forest (13-11, 2-9) at Winston-Salem, N.C.... Cappie Pondexter had 25 points as No. 10 Rutgers (19-5, 10-2 Big East) won its fourth in a row, a 64-54 victory over Syracuse (11-13, 3-10) at Syracuse, N.Y.

Ann Strother scored 20 points to help No. 11 Connecticut (17-6, 10-2 Big East) defeat Georgetown, 67-49, at Washington. It was the Huskies’ 18th consecutive victory over the Hoyas (9-14, 4-8).... Jamie Carey scored 21 points and No. 13 Texas (16-7, 9-3 Big 12) withstood a late rally by Kansas State (17-6, 8-4) to score a 64-60 victory at Manhattan, Kan.

LaToya Davis had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead No. 15 Texas Tech (18-5, 9-3 Big 12) to a 66-53 victory over Kansas (11-12, 4-8) at Lawrence, Kan.... Mary Fox had a career-high 28 points as No. 19 Iowa State (19-4, 9-3 Big 12) rolled to a 90-65 victory over Oklahoma State (7-15, 2-10) at Ames, Iowa.
