Washington State (5-16, 1-11) at UCLA (14-7, 8-4), 1 p.m., Pauley Pavilion, FSNW -- Ah, the fortunes of the Pacific 10 Conference. A week ago, the Bruins had dropped into a tie for fifth with Oregon and their season appeared to be sliding away. Now, because Arizona dropped two games this weekend, UCLA can rise back into a third-place tie with the Ducks by beating Washington State today. Washington State has been playing better, beating Cal last weekend and giving USC a scare on Thursday. And the Cougars want to end an eight-game losing streak against the Bruins, dating to Jan. 6, 2001.
