Apple Designer Honored by Queen Elizabeth

London-born Jonathan Ive, the chief designer of Apple Computer Inc.’s iPod digital music player and its iMac, iBook and PowerBook computers, was given the title of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth.

The rank of CBE is the third-most senior rank among the five British classes of chivalry. Only the first two orders qualify for knighthood.
