Arizona Works Overtime to Win

Hassan Adams scored 23 points, including Arizona’s first and last in overtime, and the Wildcats defeated Western Kentucky, 86-81, Wednesday night at Tucson, Ariz., to win the Fiesta Bowl Classic.

Anthony Winchester of Western Kentucky (6-4) forced the overtime when he tied the score, 75-75, with a baseline jumper with 15 seconds left in regulation. Winchester finished with 22 points and eight rebounds.

Courtney Lee’s three-point play with 55 seconds to go cut the Hilltopper deficit to 83-81.

Chris Rodgers finished with 19 points, Marcus Williams had 14 and Mustafa Shakur had 11 for Arizona (7-3), which won its fifth consecutive game.

Lee, last season’s Sun Belt Conference freshman of the year, had 21 points, a season-high 14 rebounds and four steals.

No. 1 Duke 70, St. John’s 57 -- J.J. Redick scored 18 points to lead the Blue Devils (11-0) at Durham, N.C.

Duke used a 26-7 run at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second half to pull away.

Aaron Spears led the Red Storm (5-4) with 14 points.

No. 6 Illinois 82, Missouri 50 -- Dee Brown had 17 points at St. Louis, helping the Illini (12-0) to their most lopsided margin in the 25-year history of the neutral-court series.

Illinois led by as many as 34 points in winning for the sixth consecutive time in the series.

Missouri (4-4) shot 35% and committed 21 turnovers.

No. 10 Michigan State 98, Wisconsin Green Bay 69 -- Shannon Brown scored 26 points and Maurice Ager and Paul Davis each had 25 at Green Bay, Wis., to help the Spartans (10-2) win their ninth game in a row.

Ryan Evanochko had 18 points for the Phoenix (4-7).

No. 11 Louisville 78, College of Charleston 63 -- Terrence Williams scored 16 points and the host Cardinals won the Billy Minardi Classic.

Louisville (8-1) remained unbeaten in the four-year history of the tournament.

Dontaye Draper had 16 points for the Cougars (4-4).

No. 20 Nevada 68, Georgia 62 -- Nick Fazekas had 20 points and 13 rebounds, Mo Charlo scored 17 points and the Wolf Pack (8-1) held off the Bulldogs (7-3) to improve its record at home to 32-4 over the last three seasons.

Reserve Younes Indrissi scored a career-high 16 points for the Bulldogs.
