An admirable approach to helping the homeless
- Share via
Recently, I was sitting under a grand old tree in a West Hollywood park while I waited for the local library to open when a couple of sheriff’s deputies and a volunteer worker strode up and offered me some pamphlets on services available for those without shelter.
Although I am not without a home, I discovered that contrary to recent news reports alleging that no one cares about the homeless, a dedicated few are concerned about this growing problem in our country today -- and have taken action in a meaningful, heartfelt way.
Perhaps surrounding communities in Los Angeles County should take a cue from West Hollywood employees -- their efforts are not only admirable but inspiring.
